Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Studio One is an independent coworking space in Glasgow's Southside. This policy explains what information we collect when you use studio-one.scot, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
- Data controller: Studio One Glasgow Ltd (company number SC837234), registered at 89 Middlesex Street, Kinning Park, Glasgow G41 1EE. As controller, we are responsible for your information under this policy.
- Data processor: Grapeworks Ltd (SC782424), a Glasgow marketing company, carries out our marketing and website measurement on our instructions. Where this policy refers to analytics or advertising, that is work Grapeworks performs on our behalf.
- Contact: for any question about this policy, or to exercise any of your rights, email us at gdpr@studio-one.scot.
The information we collect
When you contact us. When you complete an enquiry form, book a viewing, or email us, we collect the details you provide, which typically include:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your phone number, if you provide it;
- any information you give us about what you are looking for.
We use this to respond to you and to manage your enquiry. If you become a member, we retain the details needed to administer your membership.
When you browse the site. We collect certain information automatically about how the site is used, including:
- which pages are visited;
- the approximate location of a visit, at country level;
- the type of device and browser;
- how you arrived at the site, for example from a search engine or an advert.
We use this to understand what is working, correct what is not, and improve the site. Some of it is collected through the cookies and tools described below; some is measured on our own servers without storing anything on your device (see “First-party measurement” below).
We do not collect special category data (such as health, ethnicity or beliefs), and the site is not directed at children under 13.
Cookies and your choices
A cookie is a small file that a website can store on your device. On your first visit, a banner asks which cookies you consent to. Nothing beyond what is strictly necessary runs until you make a choice.
We use cookies and similar technologies in three groups:
- Essential: required for the site to function, for example remembering your cookie choice. These are always on, do not track you, and do not require your consent because the site cannot work without them.
- Analytics: anonymous statistics about how the site is used, so we can improve it. You choose whether to allow these. If you decline, we still measure the site in a privacy-preserving way that does not store anything on your device (see below).
- Marketing: used to measure and improve advertising, including remarketing. These are off by default and switch on only if you enable them yourself. We do not use your data for advertising without your consent.
You can change your choices at any time using the link on this page or in the site footer.
How the banner works.The banner provides options to accept, to manage your choices, and to close it (the × control). If you accept, or continue through the site, we treat that as consent to analytics measurement. Marketing remains off unless you switch it on. If you decline, no cookies beyond the essential ones are set: declining means no tracking cookies are placed on your device.
First-party measurement (measuring performance without tracking you across the web)
Separately from the cookies above, we measure how our own website and advertising perform using our own systems, on our own servers. This shows us which channels bring people to Studio One, so we can allocate our marketing budget effectively and continue to improve the site.
This first-party measurement runs for every visit, on our servers, without storing anything on your device. It uses information such as:
- the page you are viewing;
- the general source of your visit, for example a campaign link;
- your approximate location;
- where you have provided them, such as by submitting a form, your contact details in a protected (hashed) form.
We carry out this processing on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our own marketing and website. This information is used by us only, internally. It is never shared with advertising platforms such as Meta or Google unless you have enabled marketing cookies above. To object to this measurement, contact us at gdpr@studio-one.scot and we will stop.
Advertising and marketing analytics
If you enable marketing cookies, we (through Grapeworks) may use advertising and remarketing tools (for example Meta and Google) to measure and improve the adverts that bring people to Studio One. These tools are provided by the platforms named under “Who we share your data with”. They run only with your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
The tools we use
Depending on your choices, the site may use:
- Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager): website analytics.
- Microsoft Clarity: anonymous session insights showing where the site is confusing (analytics consent only).
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising tools: advertising measurement and remarketing (marketing consent only).
- Google Ads: advertising measurement (marketing consent only).
- Google Tag Manager: the mechanism that loads the above according to your choices. It is not a tracker itself.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Studio One and its website, and only for that purpose:
- our website host;
- our customer and enquiry system;
- the analytics and advertising providers named above.
Each of these acts under contract and only on our instructions. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of the providers above are based outside the UK. Where your information is transferred abroad, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, so that your information retains the same level of protection.
How long we keep it
- Enquiry and membership details: for as long as we are dealing with your enquiry or membership, plus a reasonable period afterwards for our records and any legal obligations.
- Website analytics:according to each provider's settings, typically up to 14 months at a detailed level.
- First-party measurement data: held at an identifiable level for no longer than we need it for attribution, after which it is anonymised or deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- request a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it;
- ask us to delete or restrict it;
- object to our processing of it, including the first-party measurement described above;
- where relevant, request it in a portable format or withdraw your consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email gdpr@studio-one.scot. We will respond within the time the law allows, usually one month. If you are dissatisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Keeping your data safe
We take appropriate steps to protect your information, including limiting who can access it and securing the systems in which it is stored. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we maintain measures to protect your data and to address any incident that arises.
